Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its second Express Entry draw of the week. Last Tuesday, the department issued invitations to 920 candidates across a PNP-specific draw.
Today, IRCC invited candidates with work experience in trade occupations across a category-based selection draw. This was the third Express Entry draw for trade occupations candidates conducted by the department - since category-based selection draws were introduced in May 2023.
The Express Entry latest draw held on July 04, 2024, issued invitations to 1,800 candidates under the Trade Occupations category. Invited candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 436 to be eligible.
Type of draw: Trade Occupations
Candidates invited to this Express Entry latest draw will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residency (PR) to the IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
The demand for trade jobs in Canada is still high because these roles are important in many industries across the country. Skilled workers like Electricians, Plumbers, and Carpenters are needed to build homes, buildings, and infrastructure. The increasing population and ongoing construction projects keep the need for these trades steady.
On May 31, Sean Fraser announced that IRCC has finalised six new categories for draws to be conducted under the Express Entry Program. In addition to Trade Occupations, the new categories are Healthcare Occupations, STEM Occupations, French-Language Proficiency, Transport Occupations, and Agriculture & Agri-Food Occupations.
The category-based selection draws allow for the selection of candidates with the most in-demand skills to be chosen to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR.
