Quebec Arrima draw invites 208 immigrants

Quebec invited 208 hopeful immigration candidates to apply for permanent selection on March 30.

The Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) invited these candidates under the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) who had submitted an expression of interest (EOI) on the portal of Quebec online registration, Arrima.

There were two categories of candidates invited to the last round:

  • Those who had a validated job offer; and
  • Those who were in Quebec as a diplomat, consular officer, representative of the United Nations or representative of any intergovernmental organization carrying out activities in the province, and their staff.
  • Those who were in Quebec as a diplomat, consular officer, representative of the United Nations or representative of any intergovernmental organization carrying out activities in the province, and their staff.

This latest round of invitations is Quebec's second draw this year. The first took place in January when the province issued 95 invitations.

Quebec's immigration programs are administered by the province according to criteria and selection processes separate from Canada's immigration programs. Ultimately, it's up to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada to make the final decision on immigration applications.

The province of Quebec and the federal government are committed to increasing immigration targets for the years to come. This year, Quebec has targeted to admit 47,500 new immigrants. Also, IRCC is going to welcome 401,000 new immigrants through various immigration programs this year.
