Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently released data detailing the type of Express Entry candidates most likely to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR.
“In the period from January to September 2023, a total of 53,455 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates. This number excludes the additional 9,173 ITAs issued in October.”
The factors taken into account in the data included things such as the number of ITAs issued by the program, CRS score, age, occupation, and province.
By Program
Most Express Entry invitations were issued to candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) - 23,910 (nearly 45%). The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) received about 15,885 ITAs (about 30%) between January and September this year. At the same time, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates were issued 13,665 ITAs (some 26%).
No Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) invitations were issued this year.
By CRS score
About half of all candidates had a CRS score of 451-500, while only a small number received ITAs with scores above 600.
By Age
The majority of candidates receiving ITAs were in the age range of 19-29, with 28,970 candidates in their 20s.
By Occupation
NOC 21231 - Software Engineers and Designers in Canada dominated the list of top occupations across all three programs. Top job titles included Information System Analysts & Consultants and Software Engineers & Designers.
By Province
Nearly 50% of all ITAs were issued to candidates who were headed to Ontario. The next three provinces by number of ITAs were British Columbia, Alberta, and Nova Scotia.
Based on the available data, the most probable candidates to receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR - are those in their 20s enrolled in the Express Entry system - Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Specifically, candidates who immigrate to Canada as Software Engineers residing or planning to live in Ontario are the most likely to receive an invitation.
