Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This draw is the first since April 24 and follows a month-long pause in Express Entry draws.
The latest Express Entry draw on May 30, 2024, saw 2,985 ITAs issued to candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 676 to be considered for an invitation.
Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
This was the first program-specific Express Entry draw conducted by IRCC since introducing category-based Express Entry draws in June 2023. In a program-specific draw, rather than inviting candidates from all programs, candidates from the Express Entry pool who have applied through a specific Canada PR program are selected to apply for Canada PR visa.
This draw is the first since April 24 and follows a month-long pause in draws. IRCC still needs to confirm a reason for the pause.
However, according to a report, the department said all invitation rounds this year will occur on a predetermined schedule. IRCC has yet to make the draw schedule public. The report also said that the draw size and frequency will be determined based on the admission targets in 2024 and 2025.
