First Quebec RSWP draw of 2024 invites 1,007 candidates

Quebec conducted a new Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) draw on 24 January 2024, inviting 1,007 candidates to apply for permanent selection. This was the first draw conducted by Quebec in 2024. 

To be eligible in this latest Quebec RSWP draw, candidates must declare interest in immigrating to Quebec to work. Candidates whose profile matched the criteria needed in Quebec were selected to receive an invitation for permanent selection.

Latest Quebec RSWP Draw - Results

• Total number of candidates invited: 1,007
• Date and time of extraction from the Arrima bank: January 22, 2024 at 5:25 a.m.

Who was eligible?

• They had a valid job offer outside the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
• They had a level 7 oral proficiency (or higher) in French according to the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français.
• Their occupation appears in the following list of the National Occupation Classification (NOC):

0213 - Computer and information systems managers
2131 - Civil engineers
2132 - Mechanical engineers
2133 - Electrical and electronics engineers
2141 - Industrial and manufacturing engineers
2143 - Mining engineers
2147 - Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
2171 - Information systems analysts and consultants
2172 - Database analysts and data administrators
2173 - Software engineers and designers
2174 - Computer programmers and interactive media developers
2175 - Web designers and developers
2231 - Civil engineering technologists and technicians
2232 - Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians

• They had a score equal to or greater than 615 points.

Profiles are evaluated based on the selection grid criteria used by the Quebec government to assess their eligibility for Quebec RSWP. This includes factors such as Education, Work Experience, Age, Language Proficiency in French and/or English, and other criteria that are specific to the Quebec RSWP.

In 2023, Quebec conducted 16 RSWP draws that invited a total of 17,408 candidates. The same trend of issuing high invitations with low scores is expected to be carried out in 2024 as well.
