First Express Entry draw of 2024 invites 1,500 candidates

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw. This was the first invitation round conducted by the department in 2024. 

The Express Entry draw held on January 10, 2024, saw ITAs issued to 1,510 candidates across a general draw. Invited candidates also required a minimum CRS score of 546 to be eligible.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

In a general draw, candidates from all three Express Entry streams: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) - are considered for an invitation. 

The most recent Express Entry draws took place from December 18-21, 2023. A total of seven draws were held in December. This included two general draws and five category-based Express Entry draws. 

Within just 15 days, IRCC managed to invite a total of 15,045 candidates to apply for a Canada PR visa.

Express Entry draws are typically conducted at regular two-week intervals, on a Wednesday. The expected Canada Express Entry next draw prediction is January 25, 2023.
