Express Entry invites 463 PNP candidates for Canadian permanent residence

The qualifying CRS score to be eligible under the PNP aligned Express Entry draws were 751.

Canada immigration system on August 18, 2021 invited over 463 candidates with a provincial nomination in the express entry pool to be considered for permanent residence.

To be eligible an invite, the candidates required a score of 751 CRS points on par with a provincial sponsorship from an Express Entry aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The allotted scores are generally high for PNP draws as a provincial nomination rewards 600 additional points in the comprehensive ranking system. The present draw is slightly lower than the previous one where the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) nominated candidates at 760 CRS scores.

The tiebreaking rule considered candidates with the minimum score to be granted a Canada PR status only if their applications were submitted before April 13th, 2021 at 09:59 PM IST. Irrespective of a tie, the IRCC always publishes a tiebreaking rule on its official website.

2021 saw 16 PNP draws

The IRCC has been holding regular draws throughout the pandemic which majorly includes candidates from the Canadian Experience Class and PNPs in the Express Entry pool.

Being confined to the covid-19 regulation, the candidates invited through either of the Express Entry-linked: PNP or CEC program are most likely active in Canada already. The conditions on which they’re considered eligible depends on their ability to convince the immigration authority about their stay in Canada. In case of a PNP candidate, he/she must demonstrate that their skill is in-demand and that they’ll succeed in the employment market of Canada.

The PNPs function to identify the workforce gaps in the Canadian labour market. On the basis of which future immigrants apply to rectify those missing links in the Canadian labour market. Meaning when a new immigrant gets a nomination, a certain opportunity in the regional labour market gets closed. The federal programs cannot function in the same way that’s why the PNP is an important aspect of the Canada immigration system because it functions to fill the gaps of regional labour market.

Having said this, it’s highly recommended for the federal government to work in-sync with the provincial authorities to help achieve their immigration goals. Though a direct flight from India is restricted at the Canadian airbase but there are ways through which one can travel to Canada. PNP aspirants who have been approved as permanent residents are exempt from the travel restriction.

Express Entry 2021 reaches double the invitation levels of 2020

The Express Entry invitation of 2021 has almost reached twice the rate of invites issued by IRCC in 2020. A higher margin of invitations lets the IRCC close in on the immigration target of 108,500 foreign nationals through the promising Express Entry program as we come to the end of 2021. Till present, a total of 102,779 candidates have been granted a sure shot place in Canada through Express Entry.

The average CRS scores requirement have been rising and dipping based on the draw types – PNP and CEC. The Canadian experience class typically has a lower margin with main focus on one group of applicants. There is no specific competition under this pathway. Whereas a PNP nomination inevitably grants 600 additional points to your existing CRS, hence the cutoff for PNPs would be higher than any other Express Entry draws.

What is Canada Express Entry program?

The Express Entry program of Canada is an online immigration application system that allows the intake of candidates through the three main Canadian pathways for migration, namely - the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. It also works in collaboration with the provincial nominee programs of Canada to invite candidates in the EE pool for a provincial nomination.

An eligible candidate in the Express Entry program is ranked on the basis of a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The points awarded are based on the candidate's core human factors such as age, work experience, education, language proficiency skills, and other adaptability factors.
