• Canada welcomed a record number of 551,405 new international students in 2022. As of December 31st, 2022 there were 807,750 international students studying in Canadian universities and colleges.
• Top source countries of international students entering Canada in 2022 included applicants from India, China, Philippines, France, and Nigeria.
• Top source countries in 2022 of international students on a Canada Study Visa already in the country included 319,130 students from India, 100,075 students from the People’s Republic of China, and 32,455 students from the Philippines.
• Top provinces where international students attended a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) in 2022 were Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta, and Manitoba.
