Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted 52 Express Entry draws in 2024. It conducted a total of 98,903 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) through the Express Entry system. Last year, IRCC conducted 42 Express Entry draws.
There has been an increase in both the number of draws and ITAs compared to the previous year. It indicates indicating Canada's ongoing commitment to attracting skilled immigrants through the Express Entry system.
Overall, IRCC conducted 9 general draws, 14 PNP-specified draws, 10 CEC draws, and 19 category-based draws. Between January and April 2024, the department has conducted general rounds of selection, as well as category-based rounds.
Starting in May, however, the department shifted its focus, prioritizing candidates under the PNP, and CEC. The table below shows the number of draws, invitations, and minimum and maximum CRS scores of each type of draw:-

This year, we saw fluctuations in the Comprehensive Ranking Score. The minimum CRS score was 336 under the French-language proficiency category. All the candidates proficient in the French language had higher chances of getting Canada PR.
French proficiency draws have consistently occurred throughout the year. These draws are expected to remain a key focus within the Express Entry system, reflecting IRCC's dedication to promoting francophone immigration.
The maximum CRS score required in the Express Entry pool was 813 under PNP-specific draws. The Express Entry PNP draws help the department select skilled workers who can fulfill the economic and labour needs of the province.
Generally, the draws under the Express Entry Program are held once every two weeks. The department consistently conducted the Express Entry draws. The highest number of Express Entry draws were conducted in July, welcoming over 25,000 candidates.
IRCC conducted only three Express Entry draws in September. In December, the department again issued three draws. The final draw of the year, held on December 16, 2024, issued 1,085 invitations to candidates with a CRS score of 727.
