Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has recently announced the launch of the Rural Community Immigration Pilot along with the communities participating in it. It has selected 14 communities on 30 January 2025 to participate in the program.
The Rural Community Immigration Program (RCIP) is introduced to help attract skilled workers into the market and fill the labour shortage. It will also address the economic needs of the small communities and promote cultural diversity.
In total, 14 communities have been selected to participate in the Rural Community Immigration Program.
In each chosen community, a local economic development organization will collaborate with the Canadian department to address key labor shortages.
These organizations will identify reliable employers, and recommend qualified candidates for Canada PR. IRCC has already started training these organizations, while each community will outline specific timelines and guidelines for when employers can begin applying.
