Master's and PhD grads, overseas students with employment offers, and employees were asked to apply for an Ontario provincial nomination through the latest Ontario PNP draws. Ontario has staged five lotteries to invite immigrant candidates to compete for a provincial nomination in the last two days. As a result, approximately 1,493 immigrants are now one step closer to becoming permanent residents in Ontario.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) welcomed 173 immigration candidates who may be qualified for the PhD Graduate stream on February 28. Candidates needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 16 to be considered. Then, on March 1, Ontario invited candidates from the Master's Graduate, Foreign Worker, and International Student streams.
The OINP additionally extended targeted invitations to International Student stream applicants with a score of 42 or above and work experience in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes listed below:
Ontario evaluates EOI profiles based on a variety of human capital indicators determined by the province to be relevant in selecting immigrants with the capacity to prosper. Candidates are awarded points based on the degree of competence in their job offer as well as their Canadian work experience.

Each stream's OINP scoring methodology is unique. Aside from skill level and job experience, it considers pay, education, official language proficiency, and area of study or employment. In addition, the province may allocate up to ten points at its discretion to respond to labour market demands.
Foreign nationals with an acceptable work offer from a company in Ontario are eligible for the Ontario International Student Stream under the Employer Job Offer category. You do not have to apply from within Canada if you match the qualifying conditions. You must have finished a programme at a Canadian Designated Learning Institution, have an approved employment offer in Ontario and desire to come to the province, among other requirements, to be eligible.
To receive an invitation to apply for this program, you have to register an EOI profile on the Ontario website. Your profile will then go into the EOI pool, and you will get a score based on the files you submit. In addition, Ontario awards points for human capital factors that the province has determined will indicate your ability to integrate into the labour market.
Foreign nationals with an eligible work offer from a company in Ontario may apply for the Ontario Foreign Worker Stream under the Employer Job Offer category. Candidates are not required to apply from inside Canada if they match the qualifying conditions.
Candidates must have the equivalent of two years of work experience in a skilled occupation, have an approved employment offer in Ontario, and want to immigrate to the province, among other requirements, to be eligible.
Those interested in applying for this PNP stream must first create an EOI profile on the Ontario website. After submitting a profile, it will be added to the EOI pool. Ontario will assign a score based on the information provided.
To be considered for the Master's Graduate or PhD Graduate stream, applicants must first register with Ontario's e-Filing Portal and then submit an expression of interest for their preferred graduate stream. The province of Ontario then invites qualified people to apply for a provincial nomination, which is a key step toward Canadian permanent residency. A job offer is not required to apply; however, applications must be filed within two years following graduation.
