Alberta PNP Draw: 250 immigrants invited for provincial nomination

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 250 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on May 18. 

Candidates who were invited in this round of invitation had a valid express entry profile and minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 301 points.

This was the 10th draw of the year organized as part of the Alberta PNP.

Alberta has invited 1,909 express entry candidates since they resumed issuing nominations after a temporary hiatus in January 2021.

If invited candidates are eligible for nomination through the Alberta Express Entry stream, they will automatically earn an additional 600 CRS points based on their overall score in the Express Entry system. This many CRS points effectively guarantee an ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The AINP manages the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) for immigrants wishing to settle in Alberta.

Alberta PNP's Express entry stream is an enhanced immigration stream, which means it is in line with the federal government's Express entry program. The first step to being eligible for this program is to create a profile in the Express Entry system.

The Alberta Express Entry stream is for Express Entry applicants who have strong ties to Alberta. Priority is given to candidates who can support the province in its diversification priorities and economic development.

Currently and due to the pandemic, Alberta only considers applicants who already live and work in the province.

Applicants must have work experience in an eligible occupation and a minimum score of 300 to receive an invitation from Alberta.

Alberta has been authorized to issue 6,250 certificates of appointment in 2020. For 2021, the Government of Canada has issued 6,250 certificates of appointment to Alberta, a government official confirmed.
