In 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program issued 9,942 invitations and 85% of these went to temporary foreign workers. Alberta PNP issued some additional nominations under a small Express Entry administrative overage provided by the federal government.
Alberta has assessed 924 nominee applicants with a work permit expiring in 2024 under this temporary public policy. Alberta PNP issued 777 work permit support letters for existing foreign workers already contributing to the economy and labour market needs.
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is an immigration pathway to invite skilled workers and entrepreneurs to apply for Canada PR. All those workers who fulfill the labour shortages in the province get nominated through this program.
The in-demand sectors that are targeted through the PNP draw are agriculture, healthcare, technology, and construction. You can choose from the following options if you are planning to immigrate to Alberta:-
Streams for Workers
The AAIP has 4 streams for foreign workers who plan to live and work in the province:-
Streams for Entrepreneurs
The AAIP has 4 streams for entrepreneurs who plan to live in Alberta or start a business:-
You can choose a relevant stream depending on the eligibility criteria and skill requirements. We can expect back-to-back invitation rounds in December as Canada plans to achieve its immigration target.
