1,000 Trade Occupation candidates invited in latest Express Entry draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its fifth Express Entry draw of the month.

The latest Express Entry draw held on December 19, 2023, issued 1,000 invitations to candidates with professional experience in Trade Occupations. Invited candidates required a minimum CRS score of 425 to be considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

• CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 425
• Tie-breaking rule: November 04, 2023 at 11:16:58 UTC

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

*Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program may be issued through this round of invitations.

Eligibility for Trade Occupations Category

To be eligible to apply under the Trade Occupations category, you must:

• Have at least 6 months of full-time, continuous work experience within the past 3 years in Canada or abroad, in a profession targeted for the Trade Occupations category.
• Meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round.

Today’s draw is the second of the week. Yesterday, on December 18, IRCC invited 1,325 candidates with a CRS score of 542, in an all-program draw. The week before, IRCC issued 11,650 invitations to apply for Canada PR - across three back-to-back Express Entry draws.

This was only the second time IRCC held a category-based draw that was targeted at candidates under the Trade Occupations category. The previous such draw was held on August 03, 2023.
