Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw today. This was IRCC’s second Express Entry invitation round of the week. Yesterday, IRCC invited 4,750 candidates in an all-program Express Entry draw.
The latest Express Entry draw held on December 07, 2023, saw ITAs being issued to 1,000 candidates under the Express Entry French language proficiency category. Invited candidates required a minimum CRS score of 470.
Type of draw: French language proficiency (2023-1)
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Invitations to apply to the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Programs may be issued through this round of invitations.

This was the sixth invitation round conducted by IRCC for French-language proficiency candidates in 2023.
Canada’s Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has a mandate to promote the French language outside of Quebec. IRCC quoted, “By prioritizing the invitation of French-speaking newcomers, Canada aims to support economic growth through Francophone immigration outside Quebec while recognizing how it enriches and strengthens these communities.”
According to the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is looking to welcome 31,500 French-speaking permanent residents (PRs) in 2025 and 36,000 newcomers under the same category in 2026.
